The mini HDMI to HDMI was a little pricey, but I figure it is worth it. Set up the studio, face the monitor at the kiddos and hand them the remote. Once Google Maps recognizes where you are, it displays the navigation instructions on your phone. The message tells you to point your phone camera at buildings, street signs, or any element of scenery that Google Maps can recognize against Street View data in the area.

Is this the software you're referring to, Heaven Ideas? Or is it somewhere else? I've just downloaded NXRemote from the Breeze website and can't seem to get the camera to connect. Not sure if it will end up being worth the effort, but I'm giving it a try. I'm building a studio in my basement, and have a large 3x4 aspect ratio tube HDTV (yes, they used to build those) that doesn't work in the house I'm in now, and I'm going to put it on a shelf next to where the tripod will go so I can see my images much larger while I shoot. I've used the video out socket as Alan Yau mentioned. My client, a plastics producer, gave me these yesterday and as I saw your post I thought this was a perfect opportunity to try some remote capture software. The Lite version of DSLR Remote only includes image reviewing and tethered shooting. 0 Comments I downloaded both Mountainstorm and Sofortbild because I am on a Mac and because free is the right price. Sofortbild even supports LiveView with compatible cameras. Others use the similar, but a bit more complicated, procedure I wrote about in the newsletter to send them into Lightroom.
Complete with live view, and the ability to change aperture/shutter speed/ISO etc, and also burst/bracket/intervalometer. Sofortbild will also open up and send the images to either iPhoto or Aperture. I just downloaded a program for macs called DSLR Remote Camera Server, with it I can connect my D90 to my macbook and use my iphone as a remote. I've tried hooking my d90 up to my lcd tv via HDMI and the tv becomes a duplicate of the 3" lcd screen I especially prefer your much larger live view window & histogram display.
